About Dr. Hee Young Chun L.Ac. DAOM

Licensed Acupuncturist & Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine

Dr. Chun is a seasoned Acupuncturist and Herbalist who majored in Bioscience in college and obtained her Master of Science in Oriental Medicine.  After she passed the California Board Exam for licensure, she went on to complete her Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

Dr. Chun had an apprenticeship with Dr. Choi, a master of a famous Korean Acupuncture technique called the One Needle Technique.  This unique technique is used to diagnose the root cause of the patient’s illnesses and to treat according to its associated needling treatment.

To give an example of the diagnosis, stress can cause various symptoms in our body.   In Oriental Medical Terminology, “Liver Fire” can be the root cause of these symptoms.  The symptoms can look like tight muscles, dry eyes, blurry vision, upset stomach, etc. When Liver Fire is treated properly, all the related issues can be resolved all at once.

Dr. Chun views our body as a small universe in which all parts are closely related.  She believes that our body has the power to heal itself.  Acupuncture and Herbs are powerful tools to help our body heal when our own bodies  lack enough power (Qi) to heal.

 Her specialties include:

1. Stress related problems: muscle tightness & stiffness, indigestion, anger issues, eye issues (dry eyes, blurry eyes, pressure in eyes), headaches, insomnia, and hemorrhoids

2. Acute & Chronic pain due to personal injuries, or any other accidents, as well as for post-operative rehabilitation

3. Spinal issues including disc herniations, degenerative disc disease, arthritis, sciatica, pinched nerve, and spinal stenosis

4. Alopecia areata (sudden hair loss, circular bald patches)
